Finger touch judgment
Due to frequent friction, it is normal for many small scratches to appear on the brake discs.
But if the scratches are obvious and deep, forming a shape similar to a small groove, you can touch the edge of the groove with your fingers. If the edge is sharp, it indicates that the groove is deep, and we need to consult the 4S store to see if it needs to be replaced.
Observing grooves
Most brake discs have small grooves distributed, known as wear indicator signs. When the small grooves on the brake disc are no longer visible due to wear, it indicates that the wear limit has been reached and the brake disc needs to be replaced immediately.
Judging by thickness
During long-term use, the thickness of brake pads will become thinner as they continuously rub during braking. The general service life is generally around 40000 to 60000 kilometers, and harsh driving environments and aggressive driving styles can also shorten the service life in advance.
When the design of the brake caliper of a vehicle model makes it impossible to see the brake pads with the naked eye, a maintenance technician can remove the wheels for inspection during vehicle maintenance.
Both sections of the brake pads have a raised mark, approximately 2-3 millimeters thick, which is the replacement limit for thinner brake pads. If the thickness of the brake pads is found to be almost parallel to the markings, they need to be replaced immediately.
